The Napa Lapa Trail Adventure

The Napa Lapa Trail Adventure is a time-based trail run held at Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa, California. Instead of a set distance, participants run as far as they can within a chosen time block on a multi-loop course that uses the park's trails and fire roads.

Event options include:

  • 12 hour individual and relay
  • 6 hour individual and relay
  • 3 hour individual

The main loop is 4.16 miles with approximately 815 feet of elevation gain per lap. In the final 40 minutes of each timed event a smaller 0.34 mile loop is opened so runners can close out their time. The course surface is primarily fire road and moderately technical dirt with singletrack, long smooth climbs, and swooping descents. Hiking poles are permitted.

Courses are marked with colored ribbon about every 200 meters; blue ribbons indicate wrong-way trails. Aid support includes one full aid station at the start/finish and a water-only station at mile 2; runners must carry their own cup or bottle because the event is cupless. Disposable timing chips are attached to bibs and results are captured using chip timing systems. Capacity is limited to 500 participants.

Awards include overall trophies, fastest-lap and best-dressed recognitions, age-group medals, finisher medals, a pint glass for 6 hour finishers, and a dead-last finisher award. Race shirts are provided; to guarantee a specific shirt size, registration must be completed by July 25, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
