The Napa Lapa Trail Adventure

The Napa Lapa Trail Adventure is a time based trail event held on August 8, 2026 at Skyline Wilderness Park in Napa, California. Instead of a fixed distance, participants run as far as they can within a set time period. The event has a total capacity of 500 runners.

Available timed formats include:

  • 12 hour and 12 hour relay
  • 6 hour and 6 hour relay
  • 3 hour

The main loop is 4.16 miles long with approximately 815 feet of elevation gain per lap. During the final 40 minutes of each timed event a shorter 0.34 mile loop is opened for runners to close out their time. The course is mostly fire road and moderately technical dirt trails with singletrack sections, long climbs, and swooping descents. Hiking or trekking poles are permitted.

Courses are marked with colored surveyor ribbon and supplemental signs at complicated turns; blue ribbons indicate wrong way. Aid is concentrated at one full Start/Finish station with an additional water station at mile 2. The event is cupless; runners are expected to carry their own water or reusable cup. Timing uses disposable chip timing attached to bibs.

Awards include overall trophies, fastest lap, best dressed, age-group medals, a wine glass for all 12 hour finishers, and awards for the last finisher. Post-race food and vendor offerings are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
