The Murder Mile Halloween Horror

The event is a Halloween night trail run held on private land near Franklin, Tennessee, using a short loop referred to as The Murder Mile. The loop measures about 1.1 miles and is described as old logging road double track with two climbs, steep grades, fast runnable sections, and an easy downhill through a field to the start and finish area. Each loop gains approximately 340 feet of elevation.

Organizers present two event options under the event name: Haunted Half and Sinister Six. The course includes themed elements such as eerie lights, creepy sounds, and haunt-style decorations. Trick or treat stations are placed on the loop so participants encounter treats and prescribed "tricks" each lap. The Bag of Tricks determines tasks that participants must perform during subsequent laps; examples in the event description include actions such as a zombie shuffle or carrying a pumpkin.

The event encourages costumes and notes that costumes may be required. Coyotes have been reported in the area. No pets are allowed on the property under any circumstances. Awards are given to the top three finishers in male and female categories. Organizers will track laps using a clothes-pin system.

The event is hosted on private property about 20 minutes from Downtown Franklin. There are no refunds or deferrals. In the case of dangerous weather, the event may be moved to the prior night. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
