The 50-mile "Middle Mosquito" uses three 5.5-mile loops that are repeated in sequence, with aid and crew access every 5.5 miles. The daytime Mini-Mosquito 50k covers roughly 33 miles using two laps of each course and must be run without leaving the park. The Mystical Mosquito 50k is a nighttime 50k using three loops in a B-A-B pattern and shares the same course-leaving rules. Relay teams run laps relay-style, with one runner on course at a time; all relay teams must provide at least one volunteer. Communal meals are planned for teams and runners.
