Ontario Summit Trail Races : September 12, 2026

The Ontario Summit Trail Races take place Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill in Naples, New York. The event will use trail routes and offers two distance options:

  • Short course
  • Long course

Location and access

Race headquarters is at Wilson Lodge in Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill. The parking lot next to Wilson Lodge is reserved for staff and volunteers. Event parking is provided in pavilions and the baseball field accessed via the park loop road; volunteers will direct traffic and fill spaces from the end of the loop. Participants are asked not to park on the race course, on the main park road, or in small lots by the jump off. The main park road operates as a one-way, counter-clockwise loop.

Weekend activities and race amenities

Camping options are available near the lodges; campers may also arrange campsites or cabins with Ontario County Parks. There will be casual Friday night social events, access to outdoor grills and some kitchen equipment, and light breakfast items on race morning including fruit, oatmeal, coffee, tea, and baked goods. Post-race offerings include hand-made burritos, beer and other beverages, fruit and snacks, and physical therapy support at the finish.

Policies, awards and volunteers

A long sleeve cotton/poly shirt and a branded pint glass are among the giveaways. Awards will be given for overall female and male winners on both courses and to a random selection of participants; awardees will be contacted after the event and offered gift cards or race entries. The event maintains a single price with no increases and no fees for participant transfers, distance switching, deferrals, or refunds. Distance switching is allowed up to race-day check-in; refunds and deferrals are allowed within posted deadlines. The Race Director may disqualify participants for abusive behavior, littering or trail damage, receiving aid outside designated areas, pacing from non-participants, or course-cutting such as cutting switchbacks. Volunteers receive meals and a race shirt, and key volunteer roles receive additional rewards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
