The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail is held at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, and has been part of the event calendar since 2017. Routes run through the Stonor estate and the surrounding Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, starting from the manor house.

Runners can choose from three waymarked routes:

  • Half Marathon: 22 km, +511 m elevation
  • Middle: 13 km, +360 m elevation
  • Short: 7 km, +99 m elevation

The routes pass through woodland and estate land where fallow deer and red kites may be seen. Some sections include steep climbs and descents with gradients reaching about 22 percent. The Short route has no outpost; the Middle route has one outpost; the Half Marathon has two outposts. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte but no pre-filled cups. Runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle for water from self-serve barrels.

There are no toilets along the route; facilities are available in the start and finish area. The event offers free parking, a fully marked course, timing with online results, event photography, a bag drop area, food and drink at the venue and a metal finisher medal. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Dogs are permitted only if added to the entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
