The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail takes place at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Routes start from the 850-year-old manor house and run through the Stonor estate and the surrounding Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The estate is home to a long-established herd of fallow deer and red kite sightings are possible on the trails.

There are three waymarked routes:

  • Half Marathon 22 km, +511 m, £49
  • Middle 13 km, +360 m, £39
  • Short 7 km, +99 m, £25

The courses include steep climbs and descents, with gradients reaching 22 percent in places. The Short route does not have an outpost; the Middle route has one outpost and the Half Marathon has two. Outposts provide a top-up of sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte. The event aims to be cup free at outposts, so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle.

Other practical details: free parking is available at the venue, the course is fully marked and timed, and there is event photography and a metal finisher medal. There are no toilets on the route; facilities are only in the start and finish area. Online entry closes on 4 November 2026 at 12:00 noon, with on-day entries permitted if the event is not sold out. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Organisers request that all runners finish by 2pm to reduce pressure on marshals.
