The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The event is scheduled for 7 November 2026 at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Routes start from the 850-year-old Manor House of Stonor Park and run through the estate and the surrounding Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Runners may see fallow deer that have grazed on the estate since medieval times and, occasionally, red kite. The trails include climbs and descents with gradients reaching around 22 percent in places, and sections that require careful foot placement.

Available routes:

  • Half Marathon: 22 km, +511 m elevation gain
  • Middle: 13 km, +360 m elevation gain
  • Short: 7 km, +99 m elevation gain

There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost and the Half Marathon has two outposts. Outposts provide sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte. There are no pre-filled water cups at outposts so participants should carry a reusable cup or bottle. There are no toilets along the route; toilets are available in the start and finish area.

The event offers free parking, a fully marked course, race timing with online results, event photography, bag drop and a metal finisher medal. The event is dog friendly; a dog must be added to the entry to participate with a dog.

Recommended kit includes a phone, trail shoes, rain coat, warm layer, foil blanket, water bottle or running pack and a reusable cup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
