The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail 2026
The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail takes place at Stonor Park near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire and runs through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Routes start from the 850-year-old Manor House on the estate.
The estate is home to an ancient fallow deer herd and red kites have been seen in the area. The courses weave through woodland and estate land, with climbs and descents reaching gradients of 22 percent in places.
Available routes:
- Half Marathon: 22 km, elevation gain +511 m
- Middle route: 13 km, elevation gain +360 m
- Short route: 7 km, elevation gain +99 m
There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost and the Half Marathon has two outposts that act as top-ups and offer sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte. Organisers aim to keep outposts cup free, so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle.
There are no toilets along the run routes; toilets are available in the start and finish area. The event provides free parking, a fully marked course, race timing with online results, event photography, a bag drop area, food and drink availability and a metal finishers medal. The event is dog friendly when a dog is added to the entry. Online entry closes on 4 November 2026 and entries on the day may be possible if the event is not sold out. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
