The Maverick Oxfordshire Trail 2026
The event takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026 at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Routes start from the 850-year-old Manor House on the Stonor estate and run through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The estate is home to a long-established fallow deer herd and red kites may be seen from the trails.
Distances on offer include:
- Half Marathon 22 km, elevation gain +511 m
- Middle 13 km, elevation gain +360 m
- Short 7 km, elevation gain +99 m
Trails are classic English woodland and fully marked. Some sections include steep climbs and descents with gradients reaching about 22 percent. Outposts are provided as follows: none on the Short route, one on the Middle route, and two on the Half Marathon. Outposts supply a range of sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte top-ups. Organisers aim to operate cup-free outposts; participants are advised to bring a cup or bottle to refill. There are no toilets along the running routes; toilets are available in the start and finish area.
The event offers free parking, fully timed results, event photography, a bag drop area, food and drink at the venue, and a metal finisher medal. Entries close online on 4 November 2026 at 12:00 noon; on-the-day entries may be possible if the event is not sold out. A small booking fee applies. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Dog spaces are limited and must be added to the entry. Organisers request that runners complete their route within four hours to ease marshal duties. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
