The Maverick Chilterns Trail 2026

The Maverick Chilterns Trail takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026 at Princes Risborough School in Buckinghamshire. The event uses routes that lead away from the market town of Princes Risborough and into the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearest railway station is Princes Risborough, approximately 1 mile from the venue, with direct services from London Marylebone.

Routes run through ancient beech woodland, sweeping ridgelines, chalk downs, quiet bridleways and technical singletrack. The terrain is undulating with several punchy climbs and sections of chalky trail; the 50 km route links parts of the Ridgeway and the Chiltern Way.

Available distances

  • 50 km Ultra, elevation +1106 m
  • Marathon 42 km, elevation +981 m
  • Half Marathon 24 km, elevation +613 m
  • Middle 14 km, elevation +301 m
  • Short 8 km, elevation +209 m

Aid and logistics information is provided for each route: the 50 km and marathon have multiple outposts, the half marathon has one outpost, and the shorter routes do not have outposts. Outposts supply snacks, gels and electrolyte drink and are intended as top-ups; they aim to operate cup-free so participants should bring a refill cup or bottle. The event offers free parking, a fully marked and timed course, event photography, bag drop and a metal finisher medal. Dogs are not allowed at the venue. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
