Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon

The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is a trail running race along The Ridgeway National Trail between Wendover and Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. The next edition is scheduled for Sunday 4 July 2027 and is based in Wendover with the event finish at Hampden Meadow.

The route follows a stretch of The Ridgeway between Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill and includes a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. The course is entirely off road, covers 21.1 km with about 526m of ascent, and includes numerous ups and downs on uneven footpaths. The race is fully marked and marshals staff road crossings and busier sections. The field is limited to 350 runners and the time limit is 4 hours.

There are two on-course aid points, with a single checkpoint passed twice located at Green Hailey (approx 8.5 km and 11.5 km). Aid station supplies include water, coke, energy gels and chews, jelly babies, crisps and a toilet. Portaloo toilets are available at start and finish and there are public toilets in Wendover and at the train station. There are no changing facilities.

Entry is open to runners aged 17 years or older with no qualifying requirement. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Race services listed for entrants include a finishers medal, live timing, medical support and a bag drop.
