Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon
The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is a trail race held in Wendover, Buckinghamshire on 5 July 2026. The event covers a measured distance of 21.1 km with approximately 526 m of ascent and is limited to 350 runners. The route follows The Ridgeway National Trail between Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf Hill and includes a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. The course is entirely off road and includes sustained climbs and descents across uneven footpaths and forestry.
The event base and registration are at the Shoulder of Mutton pub on Pound Street in Wendover, with the finish at Hampden Meadow on South Street. Competitors will pass a single checkpoint twice at The Plough, Cadsden (6.7 km and 13.4 km); this location offers toilets and supplies including water, Coke, Precision Fuel and Hydration PF 30 gels and jelly babies. The course is fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons, and marshals are positioned at road crossings and busier sections. A GPX file and other route downloads are available for navigation.
The race is held under a TRA licence (No. 7443) and UKA rules. Minimum age for entry is 17. Entry fees are £35 or £33 for UKA affiliated runners. The event includes live timing, a finishers medal, medical support and a bag drop. Runners are recommended to carry a mobile phone, a digital route map and a soft cup for drinks at aid stations.
