The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon is a trail race on The Ridgeway National Trail between Wendover and Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. The next edition is scheduled for 5 July 2026. The race covers 21.1 km with approximately 526 m+ of elevation and is entirely off road, including a loop through Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve. The course is fully marked and the event is a UTMB World Series index race. The race is held under UKA rules with TRA License No. 7443.
Practical information
The event starts and finishes in Wendover, with registration at the Shoulder of Mutton pub on Pound Street and the finish at Hampden Meadow. Maximum field size is 350 runners and the time limit is 4 hours. Navigation is aided by orange arrow markers, ribbons and marshals at road crossings. There is one checkpoint passed twice at The Plough, Cadsden (6.7 km and 13.4 km) offering water, coke, gels and jelly babies, plus WC facilities. Runners must be at least 17 years old and dogs are not permitted. Recommended kit includes a mobile phone, a digital route map on watch or phone, and a soft cup for aid stations. Parking is available at Wendover train station, which is a short walk from the event base. Entry fee is £35 (£33 for UKA affiliated runners).
