Routes and on-course support

  • Half Marathon - 22 km (elevation +456 m)
  • Middle - 12 km (elevation +281 m)
  • Short - 6 km (elevation +198 m)

All routes weave through the South Downs, including sections on the South Downs Way. Trails include fire trails, forest paths and farm tracks, with hills and technical sections. There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost at about 5 km. The Half Marathon has two outposts at about 5 km and 14 km. Outposts offer snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; there will be no pre-filled cups, so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle for self-serve water barrels. There are no toilets along the running routes; toilets are available in the start/finish area.

Additional information

Registration is done on-site and race numbers are collected at registration; nothing is posted in advance. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. The event is dog-friendly but runners must add a dog to their entry to take part with a dog. Organisers strongly recommend not wearing headphones. Organisers ask that all runners are finished by 2pm (approximately four hours) to reduce pressure on marshals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
