The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026

The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026 takes place on Saturday 13 June 2026 at Wilkswood Farm near Swanage, Dorset. The course heads toward the Jurassic coastline and includes rocky technical sections with steep climbs and descents. Organisers note there is more elevation than in previous years.

Three routes are offered:

  • Half Marathon: 23 km, +535 m elevation
  • Middle: 13 km, +318 m elevation
  • Short: 7 km, +161 m elevation

There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost at approximately 10 km and the Half Marathon has two outposts at about 10 km and 19 km. Outposts offer a range of sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drink. Pre filled water cups are not provided; runners should use a reusable cup or bottle and refill at self serve water barrels. Toilets are not available along the running route and are provided only within the start and finish area.

Registration is organised in time windows and race numbers are collected on site. Organisers strongly recommend not wearing headphones and ask participants to follow course signage and marshals, take care when crossing roads and close gates to avoid litter. Free parking, route marking, timing and online results are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
