The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026
The Maverick Dorset Trail takes place at Wilkswood Farm near Swanage. The event features routes that traverse the rugged Jurassic coastline and include technical rocky sections with steep climbs and descents. Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 23 km (Half Marathon) with +535 m elevation gain.
- 13 km (Middle) with +318 m elevation gain.
- 7 km (Short) with +161 m elevation gain.
The event operates with a focus on environmental sustainability and is a plastic-free race. Runners are required to bring their own reusable cups or bottles as pre-filled water cups are not provided at the outposts. The 23 km route includes two outposts, the 13 km route has one, and the 7 km route has no outposts. These stations offer water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and various snacks.
Facilities at the venue include a bag drop area and toilets at the start and finish area, though no toilets are available along the run routes. Limited places are available for participants running with dogs, which must be added during registration. The event is fully timed, and finishers receive a metal medal and non-alcoholic beer.
