The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026

The Maverick Dorset Trail takes place on Saturday 13 June 2026 at Wilkswood Farm, near Swanage in Dorset. The routes follow coastal trails toward the Jurassic coastline and include rocky technical sections with steep climbs and descents. The event notes increased elevation compared with previous years.

Distances and elevation gain:

  • Half Marathon: 23 km, +535 m elevation
  • Middle: 13 km, +318 m elevation
  • Short: 7 km, +161 m elevation

There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle route has one outpost at approximately 10 km. The Half Marathon has two outposts at approximately 10 km and 19 km. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drink as a top up to what participants carry. There are no toilets on the run route; toilets are available only in the start and finish area.

Facilities listed for the event include free parking, fully marked and timed courses, online results, event photography, food and drink at the venue, a bag drop area, and a metal finisher medal. Dog entries have now sold out. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. A scenic off-road 10 km trail through the private Lulworth Estate near Lulworth Cove, featuring chalk downs, woodland, water stations and an event café serving homemade cakes.

A multi-distance coastal ultra along the Jurassic Coast from Poole to Exmouth, offering routes from 33 km to 105 miles. The self-navigated course follows the South West Coast Path with GPX files, checkpoints and on-course safety cover.

MacTuffX Bournemouth on 21 June 2026 offers functional fitness races that combine ten Xercises with running in solo, doubles and five person relay formats. Multiple distances and a LITE weight division are available.

Participate in a dual race orienteering event through the urban landscapes and parks of Poole. Compete in two sprint sessions to achieve a cumulative time for the South West Regional Sprint Championships.
