The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026
The event takes place on 13 June 2026 at Wilkswood Farm near Swanage in Dorset. It is organised by Maverick Race and uses local coastal and inland trails that the organiser describes as their home routes.
Routes on offer:
- 23 km Half Marathon, +535 m elevation
- 13 km Middle route, +318 m elevation
- 7 km Short route, +161 m elevation
The course follows sections of the rugged Jurassic coastline and includes technical rocky coastal sections with steep climbs and descents. The middle route has one outpost at about 10 km and the half marathon has two outposts at approximately 10 km and 19 km; the short route has no outpost. Outposts provide a top up of snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; there will be self-serve water barrels and no pre-filled water cups.
There are no toilets along the running route; toilets are available only in the start and finish area. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Runners are asked to carry a reusable cup or bottle as part of a plastic free initiative; speed cups are available to purchase. Headphones are strongly discouraged. Organisers request that all runners finish within four hours to reduce pressure on marshals.
Additional event facilities include free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, a bag drop area and a metal finisher medal. Limited dog places are available and must be added to an entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
