The Maverick Dorset Trail
The event takes place on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at Wilkswood Farm near Swanage in Dorset. This trail run is set along the rugged Jurassic coastline, featuring seabirds, ancient caves, and coastal scenery.
Participants can choose from three marked and timed route distances:
- Half Marathon: 23 km with +535 m of elevation gain.
- Middle: 13 km with +318 m of elevation gain.
- Short: 7 km with +161 m of elevation gain.
The routes include technical rocky coastal sections with steep climbs and descents. For the Half Marathon route, there are two outposts with self-serve water, snacks, and electrolyte drinks. The Middle route has one outpost, and the Short route has none. The organizers aim for a plastic-free event, so participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle.
The event includes free parking, online results, event photography, a bag drop area, a finisher's medal, and non-alcoholic beer. It is a dog-friendly event, though dogs must be added to the entry.
