The Lighthouse Marathon and Ultra takes place on Saturday 7 November 2026 at Sunset Surf Cafe, Gwithian TR27 5ED. The event is organised by Bys Vyken Events and holds an ARC permit.

Distances

  • 26 miles - route from Pendeen to Godrevy lighthouse
  • 35 miles - Ultra: Longships/Lands End to Pendeen (10 miles), then 25 miles to finish

Course, entries and rules

The course follows coastal paths and includes rocks, sand, tarmac, mud and water. There are large climbs and dunes. The main route has over 4,000 feet of ascent; the Ultra carries an additional 1,800 feet of ascent. The organiser provides a generous cut-off time, and some competitors may finish after dark.

Entry options include affiliated and non-affiliated categories. Published entry fees are: marathon non-affiliated £52 and affiliated £50; Ultra affiliated £65 and Ultra non-affiliated £67 (all plus service fees). Entries open 1 April 2026. Refunds are available up to four weeks before the event and deferrals up to two weeks before the event; deferrals cannot be refunded for a subsequent race.
