Courses are marked with directional signs and colored trail flags, with each distance using its own flag color. Runners should expect often wet or slick single track and grass trails with roots, leaves, and occasional fallen tree obstacles. Course maps are available in the race course details.

Aid stations are provided for the longer distances: the 25K and 50K have two main aid stations, the 50K has an additional aid point on the course return, and the 10K has one aid station. The 5K and Kids Run do not have aid stations. All participants are expected to carry their own water bottles for refilling.

An Alaska State parking permit is required for vehicles parked at the race. Annual passes are available through Alaska State Parks and daily passes can be purchased at the on-site kiosk.

Race rules include visible bibs on the front of the body, discouraged headphone use for safety, dropping only at aid station checkpoints with volunteer recording, no littering, and enforced sportsmanship standards. The 50K is two loops of 25K with a four hour halfway cutoff and an overall cutoff of 8.5 hours. The 25K has a five hour cutoff.

Finisher recognition includes a finisher's mug for finishers and top three men's and women's awards for each race. There is no virtual option. Registration policies note that refunds, deferrals, bib exchanges, and race transfers are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
