Skeetawk Scramble Weekend

The Skeetawk Scramble is a three-day mountain running event. All races start and finish at the Skeetawk Ski Area in the Hatcher Pass Recreation Area near Palmer, Alaska.

The 2026 race weekend will take place from August 28 to August 30. The events include a youth uphill race, a VK (vertical kilometer), a 12K mountain loop, and a 37K "Skeetawk Skyline Scramble." The Skeetawk Skyline Scramble is one of four official US Skyrunning races. Runners can choose to run one, two, or all three events over the weekend.

The course then climbs to Marmot peak, traverses a ridge to Gold Cord Lake, descends the Gold Cord Trail to Hatcher Pass Lodge, climbs back to Summit Lake and Hatch Peak, and returns along the ridge to Halibut Tail Point before a final descent to Skeetawk.
