The Ghostly Gallop

The Ghostly Gallop is an offroad running event held within the grounds of Pengethley Manor, Ross-on-Wye. Entrants choose one target distance and must complete it within a seven hour time limit. Each lap is 2.5k and the course includes a short hill on every lap plus a series of ups and downs through two vineyards. The organisers describe the route as very tough; it is suitable for walkers and runners.

The event offers both in-person and virtual options. Race bibs are collected at registration for in-person entrants; virtual entrants receive a personalised virtual bib by email after entry. Paid virtual entrants can have a physical medal posted after run verification; international postage may incur an extra charge. Free virtual participation is possible and will be included in the results list if submitted via the event Strava club or with acceptable proof of the run.

Entry fees are stated as Race Entry £29.00, Virtual UK Entry £25.00, and Virtual Overseas Entry £39.00. A charity entry option is available for £10.00 provided the entrant commits to raising at least twice that amount for the nominated charity and meets the fundraising deadline. A fell race at the Llanthony Show on 1 August 2026 with a 6.3 km senior course (350 m ascent) plus multiple junior races across age categories.

Trail event in Talybont on Usk offering 24K and 51K routes with marked trails, stocked aid stations, GPX files and chip timed results.

A pancake-flat *10 km* out and back along the Brecon and Monmouthshire canal between Gilwern and Llangattock, set in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Finishers receive a medal, there is a drink station at 5 km, and entries are online only.

A social 5K in Newport with music and mobile speakers, meeting and finishing at banc coffee & records; tickets are free and under 14s require a parent or guardian.
