The George and The Dragon

The George and The Dragon is a community event taking place on 25 Apr 2026 in Hadleigh, hosted by Mid Essex Casuals and held under UK Athletics rules. Two waymarked courses are offered, laid out as written narrative routes and run without marshals or checkpoints. Starts are staggered in small groups and walkers are also welcome.

The event raises money for the Shelley Centre for Therapeutic Riding. Results will be published on the Mid Essex Casuals website after the event. A TRA permit has been applied for.

Entry details include different fees for affiliated and unaffiliated participants, and a voucher is included with the entry fee to spend at The George on return. A limited number of entries may be available on the day subject to availability. There is no parking at the pub and participants are advised to use nearby public car parks. There is no dedicated bag storage area at the venue.
