Run for Wildlife - Banham Zoo 5k

The Run for Wildlife is an annual event held at Banham Zoo in Norfolk. The course covers a distance of 5 km and features a mostly flat route. Participants run through scenic parkland and complete a lap inside the zoo grounds. The route passes several animal enclosures, including those for giraffes, kangaroos, penguins, meerkats, emus, and lemurs.

The event has a maximum capacity of 1,000 runners. The minimum age for participation is 6 years old, and those under 11 must be accompanied by an adult. For safety reasons, buggy runners and babies in slings are not permitted on the course.

Registered participants receive:

  • 5 km distance
  • Full-day entry to the zoo on the day of the race
  • A finisher medal
  • Access to the Race Day Village
  • Post-race water stations

Free parking is available on-site, and there is a bag drop service for runners. Race numbers are collected at the venue on the morning of the event. Spectators can purchase discounted entry tickets to support runners and visit the zoo.

While fundraising for the Zoological Society of East Anglia is optional, rewards are available for the top fundraiser. Participants also have the option to purchase an official race T-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
