Great Barrow Challenge Day 1
The Great Barrow Challenge is a multi-day running series hosted at the Suffolk Running Centre in Bury St Edmunds. This specific entry is for Day 1 of the 10-day series, though participants may enter individual days. The event is open to runners aged 18 and older.
The course for the first day follows the Denham Flats route. While the event offers a variety of distances, participants can choose their own pace and distance on the day. Available distances include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon
The race infrastructure includes a Race HQ or "Base Camp" situated at both the start and the lap point. This central location features an aid station providing water and snacks. The event operates a cupless policy, requiring runners to bring their own bottles or cups for refilling at the station. Participants who choose the 5 km or 10 km options typically use the Golding Hills route on most days of the series.
Entry fees include parking at the venue. All participants receive a medal upon completion of their race, with options for either a bespoke event medal or a lucky dip medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
