Colne Valley Path Marathon

Stambourne, United Kingdom • 23 Aug 2026

Colne Valley Path

The event is based at Stambourne Village Hall, Church Road, Stambourne CO9 4NP, and offers two distances:

  • Marathon - follows the Colne Valley Path along trails through Great Yeldham and past the mighty oak
  • Half marathon - starts in Greenstead Green and finishes on the Cymbeline meadows in Colchester

The routes are self navigation, provided by GPX file for a device or by written instructions available for download nearer to the event. Fully stocked aid stations and checkpoints will be placed at regular intervals along the course. The event is cupless, so participants must provide their own cup; collapsible speedcups are available to purchase for £2.50 during registration or on race day.

A pre-race shuttle will transport participants to the start, allowing vehicles to be parked at the finish; this shuttle must be selected and purchased during registration. For the marathon entry there is an option to omit a medal to reduce the entry fee; medals must be selected and paid for at registration and additional medals may not be available on the day.

Cut-off times are set at 7.5 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half marathon. Parking and toilet facilities are available at both the start and the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
