Event

The Falkland Yomp is scheduled for 11 January 2026. The race distance is 11 km with 480 m of ascent. The event has a total of 180 places and is currently full; a waiting list is open. The race has sold out each year since it began four years ago. Entries are non-refundable. If the race cannot take place for reasons outside the organiser's control, entries will be carried forward to the rescheduled date. Transfers are allowed up to five days before race day and must be organised on Entry Central.

Course and logistics

The course runs on trails within Falkland Estate and links several popular local trails. It includes two long steady climbs, a sharp finishing climb close to the finish, and a mix of exhilarating descents, gravel, rooted trail and forest track; good grippy trail shoes are recommended. A route map and a GPX file are available on the Lomond Hill Runners races page and a course recce is recommended. Chip timing is used on race bibs (Protay). There is an early start option that was used by about 30 runners last year; requests for the early start must be made to the organiser in advance. Prize money is offered: Senior 1st £80, 2nd £40, 3rd £20; first V40, V50 and V60+ £30 each, plus wine and assorted random spot prizes. £3 of each entry fee is donated to Falkland Estate for trail maintenance. An eight hour looped trail event at Devilla Forest where participants complete as many 4.366 mile laps as possible. Electronic wristbands record laps and lap times, with distances determined by total laps completed.

A ticketed running event in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on 5 April 2026 offering 5 km, 10 km and a half marathon, with all distances held at the park on the same day.

Enjoy a 19.5 mile fun run from Dundee to St Andrews along the scenic Fife Coastal Path. This non competitive event features forest trails and a historic finish at the Old Course including a medal and commemorative t-shirt.
