Dollar hill race

The Dollar hill race is an AM category mountain event held around Dollar Academy in Clackmannanshire. The course covers about 15 km with approximately 960 m of climb and finishes at the Cricket Pavilion. The route goes up Dollar Glen, crosses the Burn of Sorrow, and climbs to Saddle Hill, Whitewisp and Tarmangie. It then follows fence lines and tracks to Andrew Gannel, descends toward King Seat, passes Bank Hill and returns through Dollar Glen back to the pavilion.

The race uses marked checkpoints on upland terrain; some checkpoints are given by grid references. The route includes steep climbs, runnable sections, boggy ground on some short lines of approach, and exposed navigation if cloud is down. A GPX file for the route is available.

Entry is by pre-entry via SIEntries from late May and by entry on the day. The entry fee is £6 and entries close 02-Jul-26. Minimum age is 18. Teams are allowed and there are team prizes for the first three male and first three female teams. Kit is checked at registration; required equipment includes a whistle, compass, full waterproof body cover, hat and gloves. Recommended maps include OS Landranger 58, OS Explorer 366 and Harvey Maps for the Ochil Hills.

Recorded best times on the course are 01:11:27 (men, 2014) and 01:24:01 (women, 2010). This race does not carry FRA permit or insurance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
