The Dusty Pig Half Marathon
The Dusty Pig is a timed long-distance running event held in Saint Charles, Missouri. The course, known as the "Pork Chop Loop," consists of 13.1 miles through the Missouri Research Park and surrounding natural areas. The route utilizes a variety of surfaces, including wide city streets, paved trails, double-track packed gravel, and smooth asphalt.
The course begins at Missouri Research Park and includes a section with a 100-foot elevation drop over the first 1.5 miles. Runners then traverse a flat 4-mile stretch of the Katy Trail along the Missouri River. The middle section follows the Hamburg Trail, a 4-mile gravel path that gradually gains elevation under a tree canopy. The final 3 miles take place on the Busch Greenway, which features rolling hills and views of lakes and prairie grass.
