The Drop 6 - Outsiders Only

The Drop 6 is a short-format, 6-mile version of The Drop reserved for participants who live more than 30 miles from the event venue. It removes local knowledge: entrants are blindfolded, driven out and dropped in an unknown location, then must make their way back to headquarters without navigational technology.

On arrival participants register and hand in phones and valuables. Blindfolds are applied for the transfer; the blindfold is removed at the drop and the clock starts when the participant's feet hit the ground. No GPS, map, compass, smartwatch or preloaded route is permitted. Outside assistance and pre-planned support are not allowed, although participants may ask members of the public for directions. Entrants may run or walk, either solo or as part of a team of up to four. The event has a three hour cut-off. Address verification is required after booking to confirm the 30+ mile eligibility.

Entry details list a fee of £35 and events organised in at least Cambridge and Oxford. Entrants must be aged 18 or over on 16/11/2025. Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional safety feature separate from the entry fee; trackers are typically accurate within five metres but can be affected by tall buildings and black spots. Trackers must be returned after the event or a replacement fee of £175 will apply. Organisers retain additional safety features not available to participants.
