The Bootleg Boogie is a trail running event at Bootleg Canyon near Boulder City offering three distances on a 12.5 mile loop that is more than 90% singletrack. Each lap gains about 2,000 feet and features punchy climbs, fast descents, and technical sections.

Distances

  • 100 miles - 8 loops, 16,000 feet elevation gain
  • 50 miles - 4 loops, 8,000 feet elevation gain
  • Half Marathon - 1 loop plus a 0.62 mile bonus section

The course passes a notable ascent up Black Mountain and provides desert landscape views and views of Boulder City. At night runners can see the lights of the Las Vegas Strip in the distance. The event includes three aid stations: two full-service stations with electrolytes, salty snacks, and hot food at night, plus one additional hydration and fuel station.

Pacers are permitted after mile 37.5 for the 50 and 100 mile distances. Crews may access the course at all points; parking is located at the base camp and at the veterans aid station. Camping is permitted at the base camp and nearby starting areas Thursday through Monday morning on a first-come basis at no cost; cooking is allowed in designated areas.

Finishers receive awards and event shirts. The 100 mile field currently has a prize allocation with a specified payout for top finishers; the prize pool increases as more entrants register.
