The Bootleg Boogie
The Bootleg Boogie is a loop-format trail event held in Bootleg Canyon near Boulder City, Nevada, with race headquarters at 1000 Yucca St. The event offers three distance options:
- 100 miles - eight 12.5-mile loops; approximately 15,000 feet total elevation gain.
- 50 miles - four 12.5-mile loops; approximately 7,500 feet total elevation gain.
- Half Marathon - one 12.5-mile loop; approximately 1,875 feet total elevation gain.
Each 12.5-mile loop includes about 1,875 feet of climbing and descent and features steadily rolling terrain without very long or extreme climbs. The loop format provides frequent access to aid, crew, and spectators at the centralized start/finish area. Aid stations are positioned on each loop at the start/finish (HQ), Caldera (mile 6.9), and Veterans (mile 10.8), and all stations offer the same food and hydration options including sandwiches, fruit, snacks, chips, cookies, candies, water, electrolyte drink mix, and electrolyte tablets. Hot food is available after sundown. Drop bags are available at Caldera and HQ. Pacers are permitted after mile 37.5 for the 50- and 100-mile distances; crews are allowed at HQ only.
The 100-mile distance carries a guaranteed base purse with prize money that increases as more 100-mile entrants register. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Parking and camping are available at the base camp on a first-come basis. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
