Course
The race uses a 12.5-mile loop with roughly 2,000 feet of elevation gain per lap. More than 90% of the course is singletrack. The route includes steep climbs and technical sections, including an ascent up Black Mountain. Night running can include distant views of the Las Vegas Strip.
Logistics and support
There are three aid stations: two full-service stations with electrolytes, salty snacks, and hot food available overnight, plus one hydration-only station. Pacers are allowed after mile 37.5 for the 50- and 100-mile distances. Crews are permitted at all points on the course, with parking at the base camp and the veterans aid station. Parking and camping are available at the base camp; camping is permitted Thursday through Monday morning on a first-come basis with cooking allowed. Packet pickup is at the start/finish; runners may change distances up until the race start. Race day registration is accepted until 30 minutes before each distance start.
Awards, prizes, and policies
Finishers receive a custom belt buckle for the 100-mile distance, medals for 50 miles and the half marathon, and a race T-shirt. Podium prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each distance. The 100-mile prize pool is currently allocated at $5,000 with a listed breakdown for top places; prize pools may grow with additional signups. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
