Event overview

Trail of Terror is a trail running event at Lone Mountain Park in northwest Las Vegas, held at 4445 N Jensen St, Las Vegas, NV 89129. The event includes timed 6-hour and 4-hour options plus multiple fixed-distance events: 50k, marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, and a 1-mile kids' run. There is also a 50k relay option (teams of 2 to 6) and virtual race options. A Summit Challenge is offered as a separate climb of Lone Mountain; a 20% discount applies for participants entered in both a distance and the summit.

Course and logistics

All distances run counterclockwise around Lone Mountain on a loop just over 2 miles. Distances and loop formats:

• 50k - 14 loops + 0.1 mile out and back
• Marathon - 12 loops (26.4 miles)
• Half Marathon - 6 loops (13.2 miles)
• 10k - 2 loops + 0.9 mile out and back
• 5k - 1 loop + 0.45 mile out and back
• 1 mile - 0.5 mile out and back

The 50k relay uses a slap bracelet to mark team handoffs; each team member must complete at least one loop. One aid station will be located at the start/finish area and will provide electrolytes, snacks, food, and medical support; runners may leave drop bags. Packet pickup takes place on race day at the staging area. Parking is limited near the park; street parking is recommended for half marathon participants and shorter distances. Hot food and beverage options are provided at the event, and awards are presented to the top three female and male finishers in each distance.
