Thames Meander Spring

Thames Meander Spring is a riverside race event organised by Hermes Running on 8 March 2026. The race base is at Barnes Sports Club, The Club House, 261 Lonsdale Rd, London SW13 9QL, with the start and finish at Small Profit Dock Gardens (Barnes). Entry fees range from about £35 to £55. Age limits apply: the marathon is open to entrants aged 18 to 82, and the half marathon and 10 km are open to entrants aged 17 to 80.

Course and support

All routes follow the Thames Path as out-and-back runs. Distances offered:

  • 10 km - one out-and-back lap to Kew Gardens Car Park (CP2).
  • Half marathon - single 13.1 mile out-and-back to Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts (CP3).
  • Marathon - two 13.1 mile out-and-back loops to Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts (CP3).

The course is described as flat and runnable. The route will be marked and marshalled. The event is held on a public trail where other users, including cyclists, may be present. There are three check points: CP1 Start / Finish at Small Profit Dock Gardens, CP2 Kew Gardens Car Park (Ferry Lane), and CP3 Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts (Douglas House, Meadow Close, Richmond). Take part in the Essex Vets XC Championships on 13 December 2025 in Epping Forest for a tough and scenic 8k on forest trails. Veteran races and team prizes across age groups; entries online only until 7 December.

Middlesex Cross Country Championships return to Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Centre in Uxbridge on Saturday 13 December 2025. Youth and senior races from 2k to 12k, chip timed, open to clubs, schools and individuals.
