Terwillegar Trail Run/Walk

Terwillegar Trail Run and Walk : Saturday, September 26, 2026

The event is based at the Riverbend Community Hall with the trailhead at the end of Riddell Street at the top of Terwillegar Park. Race volunteers escort participants from the hall to the starting location and are present along the courses.

Distances offered:

  • 7.5 km walk
  • 10 km run

7.5 km walk overview: walkers descend on a wide smooth gravel path into an open field and then follow the park perimeter trail for about 4 km. This section is wide, well maintained, and suitable for trail-style strollers. Aid stations are located at 1.5 km and 5.5 km and provide cold water. After completing the loop, participants return the same way and continue through residential streets back to Riverbend Community Hall, where a hot buffet breakfast is served. Terwillegar Park is an off-leash area, so the walk is dog-friendly.

10 km course overview: the run becomes technical early, with narrow rugged single-track, roots, and rocks as runners descend into the river valley. The route opens into fields, weaves across the perimeter trail, and transitions to single-track around ponds with short steep climbs. An aid station is at 6.3 km following a sustained climb. A short out-and-back leads into a long smooth descent that crosses the park entrance road, followed by a steady climb back to the start area and the walk back to the hall for breakfast.

Additional details: registration will open in June 2026. Packet pickup is available the day before and on event morning at Riverbend Community Hall. Donations go directly to You Can Ride 2; tax receipts are issued for donations of $25 or greater. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
