Chad’s Day For Change Urban Trail Race

Chad’s Day For Change Urban Trail Race takes place at Gold Bar Park in Edmonton and highlights the east section of the river valley trail system. The course includes single track and double wide trails and a mix of paved and dirt surfaces.

The race starts at Gold Bar Park and uses three different loops: a 12 km loop to Dawson Park, a 12 km loop crossing the North Saskatchewan River into the Sunridge Ski Area, and a 10 km loop through Goldstick Park. Each loop passes by local fishing spots, trails used for play, and neighborhood parks.

The event is held to honour the life of a man who died by suicide in 2023 and aims to raise awareness of men’s mental health issues and of organizations that support them. It supports HeadsUpGuys, an online platform that provides resources and education to help men manage depression while maintaining anonymity.
