Tarctic Frozen Yeti
Westwood, United States • 7-8 Feb 2026
Event
The TARCtic Frozen Yeti is a winter trail event organized by the Trail Animals Running Club at Hale Education in Westwood, Massachusetts on February 7-8, 2026. Distances offered:
- 30-hour event
- 15-mile looped race
Course and support
The marked course is roughly 15 miles made of three approximately five-mile loops that start and finish at Powissett Lodge. Loops are color coded (Red, Blue, White) and flagged with pink ribbon and reflective tape; directional arrows mark major intersections. For the 30-hour event, loops may be sequentially closed during the race so that late hours are run on the remaining open loop; 30-hour participants must complete at least 30 miles to record a finishers distance and receive a finisher item. Aid is located at the start/finish of each loop so participants pass an aid station about every five miles. This is a cupless event; participants must carry their own hydration systems. Drop bags: two per participant (one inside the lodge, one outside) with bib number and name clearly printed.
Safety, gear and logistics
Required gear must be carried during the race and includes a cell phone, two hats, two pairs of hand coverings, a wind- and water-resistant shell, two emergency blankets or a bivy, a whistle, and clothing to cover exposed skin below the neck. Runners who will be on course at night must carry a headlamp with backup batteries, a rear red blinking light, and reflective gear. Snowshoes are not allowed; trekking poles are permitted. Parking requires walking from lots to the lodge (up to about 1.5 miles). Camping is allowed in a field across from the lodge with no fires or generators.
