Tarctic Frozen Yeti

Westwood, United States • 7-8 Feb 2026

Event

The TARCtic Frozen Yeti is a winter trail race held at Hale Education (Powissett Lodge) in Westwood, Massachusetts on February 7-8, 2026. Two distance options are offered:

  • 30 hour (Ultra) - minimum 30 miles to count as a finish.
  • 15 mile - one full lap of the tri-loop course.

The event is organized as a tri-loop course (three loops of about five miles each) that returns to the lodge.

Course and race logistics

The course is roughly 15 miles per lap, marked with pink flagging and reflective tape; directional arrows are placed at major intersections. A centrally located aid station at the lodge is available every ~5 miles. This is a cupless event: participants must bring their own hydration cup or bottle. Drop bags are allowed (one inside, one outside) and are accessible roughly every 4–5 miles.

Required gear must be carried at all times and will be checked at check-in; the list includes a cell phone, two hats, two pairs of hand coverings, a wind- and water-resistant shell, two emergency blankets (or one blanket and one bivy), a whistle, and clothing that covers exposed skin below the neck. Additional lighting and reflective items are required for night running. Snowshoes are not allowed; trekking poles are permitted. The final course may change due to weather. Crews will not have indoor lodge access. The event has a no-refund policy and enforces cutoffs for the 30 hour race; participants must follow all course and safety rules.
