Tarctic Frozen Yeti
Westwood, United States • 7-8 Feb 2026
Event
The TARCtic Frozen Yeti is a winter trail event at Hale Education in Westwood, Massachusetts on February 7-8, 2026. Two distance options are offered:
- 30-hour event
- 15-mile race
Registration closes before race week, the event often sells out, and entries are nonrefundable. Discounted youth entries are available for participants 19 and under. Event proceeds are donated to land conservation and trusts.
Course and logistics
The course is roughly 15 miles made up of three loops of about five miles each, each loop starting and finishing at Powissett Lodge. The route will be marked with pink flagging and reflective tape; arrows will be posted at major intersections. A GPX file of the proposed course is provided but the final course may change due to weather. For the 30-hour event, loops may be sequentially closed during the race so runners repeat the remaining open loop; the course closes on Sunday afternoon.
Aid stations are located at the start/finish of each loop, so participants pass an aid station approximately every five miles. This is a cupless event; participants must carry their own hydration container. Two drop bags per participant are allowed at the lodge and will be accessible every 4-5 miles. The event follows Leave No Trace principles and will compost aid station waste.
Required safety gear is enforced and additional cold-weather items may be mandated if forecasts indicate extreme conditions. Parking requires walking from designated lots; carpooling is recommended. Camping is allowed in a field across the street from the lodge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
