Run for Nature is an outdoor community event at Shedd Park, 453 Rogers Street, Lowell, MA. The event offers multiple distances and a mix of trail and paved sections through Shedd Park and Rogers Fort Hill Park, including a segment along the Concord River Greenway.
The course uses double- and single-track trails with minimal sidewalks and road connections. The route will be marked with flags and signs and staffed at road crossings and major turns. The 10K course consists of one loop completed twice. There is one water stop on the course; 10K participants pass that stop twice. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable bottles. Water and light snacks will be available at the finish area. The Kids 1 mile route is a marked loop with adults at each turn. Finishing prizes are planned for all participants.
The event will include educational displays, children’s activities, live animals, and light refreshments. Organizers state the event will occur rain or shine and that there are no refunds or day of registration. The organizers also note a commitment to making the event accessible to people regardless of ability to pay.
Parking is available at the Shedd Park Pavilion lot with additional parking along Knapp Avenue and at two lots accessed from Park Avenue East.
