Run for Nature - Lowell, MA (September 27, 2026)
Run for Nature is the second annual community run hosted at Shedd Park, 453 Rogers Street, Lowell, MA. The event features multiple distances on a mainly off-road course and supports the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trusts conservation and education work.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Trail Run (10K runners complete the loop twice; no walk option)
- Kids 1 mile Fun Run/Walk
The course mixes double- and single-track trails through Shedd Park and Rogers Fort Hill Park, and it includes a paved section along the Concord River Greenway. Trails are connected by short segments of sidewalks and roads. The route will be marked with flags and signs and staffed at road crossings and major turns. There is one water stop on course; 10K participants will pass it twice. Participants are encouraged to bring personal bottles to reduce waste. Water and light snacks will be available at the finish line. The kids course is a marked loop with adults at each turn. Finishing prizes will be given to all participants.
The event is rain or shine. It includes educational displays, children’s activities, live animals, and light refreshments. Proceeds support land protection, species conservation, environmental education, and local community programs run by the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust.
