Run for Nature - Lowell

Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust presents the Run for Nature at Shedd Park in Lowell. The event offers multiple race options and includes educational displays, children's activities, live animals, and light refreshments. Donations and sponsorships will be matched dollar for dollar. The event is rain or shine; there are no refunds and no day-of registration.

Distances:

  • 5K Run/Walk on mixed trails and paved segments.
  • 10K Trail Run following the same loop twice; no walk option.
  • 1-mile Kids Fun Run/Walk for ages 12 and under, not timed.

The course runs on a mix of double- and single-track trails through Shedd Park and Rogers Fort Hill Park, with a segment along the Concord River Greenway. The route includes minimal sidewalks and short road connectors, will be marked with flags and signs, and will be staffed at road crossings and major turns. There will be one water stop on the loop; 10K participants pass it twice. Water and light snacks will be available at the finish area. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable bottles to reduce waste.

The start and finish are at Shedd Park Pavilion, 453 Rogers Street, Lowell. Parking is available at the pavilion and at nearby lots and street parking along Knapp Avenue and Park Avenue East. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
