Run for Nature - Lowell
Run for Nature is an annual community running and walking event organized by the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust at Shedd Park, 453 Rogers Street, Lowell, MA. The event offers trail and paved segments through Shedd Park, Rogers Fort Hill Park, and along the Concord River Greenway.
Available race options:
- 10K trail run (one loop completed twice; no walking option)
- 5K run/walk
- Kids 1-mile fun run/walk (ages 12 and under; marked loop with adults at each turn)
The course is a mix of double-track and single-track trails with a paved riverway segment and minimal sidewalks or roads connecting trails. The route will be marked with flags and signs and staffed at road crossings and major turns. There is one water stop on the course; 10K runners pass it twice. Water and light snacks are available at the finish area. The organizer encourages participants to bring reusable bottles to reduce waste. Finishing prizes are provided for all participants.
The event includes educational displays, children’s activities, live animals, and light refreshments. The organizer states the event will proceed in rain or shine and that no refunds or day-of registration are available. Proceeds support Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust efforts to protect land and species, provide environmental education, and connect the community with nature. Parking is available at the Shedd Park Pavilion and at additional nearby lots and street parking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
