Run for Nature takes place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Shedd Park, 453 Rogers Street, Lowell, MA. Distances offered:
- 10K Trail Run (participants complete the loop twice; no walk option)
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk (ages 12 and under)
The event is organized by the Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust (LPCT). The event is rain or shine; there are no refunds and no day-of registration. Finishing prizes will be given to all participants. Bib pick-up is provided on the day of the event. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Course and logistics
The course uses a mix of double-track and single-track trails through Shedd Park and Rogers Fort Hill Park, with a segment along the paved Concord River Greenway. The route includes minimal sidewalks and roads connecting trails. The course will be marked with flags and signs and staffed at road crossings and major turns. There is one water stop on the course (10K participants pass it twice). Runners are encouraged to bring their own bottles; water and light snacks will be available at the finish line. The Kids 1-mile course is a marked loop with adults stationed at turns to keep participants on course.
Purpose and impact
Proceeds support LPCT’s conservation and education work, including protecting 50+ acres, conserving local wildlife and habitats, activating over 1,000 youth in environmental education, and running programs that connect residents with nature.
