Gibbet Hill Cattle Run 2026

The Gibbet Hill Cattle Run takes place on August 5, 2026 in Groton, Massachusetts at 61 Lowell Road. The main event is an 8.4 mile three-person relay in which each team member runs two 1.4 mile legs. Relay registration requires a fundraising commitment of at least $150 per team; that minimum increases to $180 after July 15, 2026. Registration for the relay includes a place in the race, a barbecue entry, and one beer per team member. Fundraising pages allow additional donations and offer prize levels for target amounts. All fees and monies raised are donated to designated beneficiaries.

There are several family-oriented options. The Cattle Run Age 12 and Under Single Loop is a solo one-lap variant for children; registration is $30 and includes a barbecue ticket and a t-shirt. The Little Lambs Mini Run has two age brackets, 6 to 8 years and 5 years and under; registration is $30, includes a t-shirt and a barbecue ticket, and 100 percent of the Little Lambs registration fee is donated to the beneficiaries. Participants check in at the registration desk to receive a bib and race instructions.

The event began in 2016 and has been held annually except in 2020. Since its inception the Cattle Run has raised over $230,000 for local charities. Proceeds for 2026 benefit six organizations, including The Greater Boston Food Bank, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
