The Tails & Trails State Forest Run is a trail running event on Saturday, May 16, 2026. It takes place at the Lulu Brook Parking Area in Pittsfield State Forest, located at 1041 Cascade St. in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Course & Aid

The course begins with a short run on a paved road before entering wooded single-track trails with rolling hills, rocks, and roots. It passes by the Whirlpool Ravine and Beaver Pond, utilizing flowy mountain bike trails through pine forests. The route includes large boulders and passes two aid stations per loop, with the start/finish area serving as a main aid station.

Registration & Details

Registration closes on Sunday, May 10. Runners must register by May 1 to be guaranteed a T-shirt. Entry fees are $100 for the 50K, $80 for the 25K, and $50 for the 5 Miler. All finishers receive an award. A time cutoff requires all runners to begin their final lap by 3:30 PM.

Charitable Cause

The event is organized by the Berkshire Ultra Running Community for Service (BURCS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Race profits support three animal rescue organizations in the Berkshire area: Red Robin Song Animal Sanctuary, No Paws Left Behind animal shelter, and Berkshire Bird Paradise.
