Event Details

The MountainOne Steel Rail Races take place in May on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. The event features three running distances: a marathon, a half marathon, and an 8K. All races are out-and-back courses starting and finishing at the Adams Visitor Center in Adams, Massachusetts.

Registration and Fees

Registration fees increase over time. Prices are listed per distance.

  • Marathon: $110 by January 1, $120 from January 2 to March 8, $130 from March 8 until May 17, and $175 for day-of registration.
  • Half Marathon: $90 by January 1, $95 from January 2 to March 8, $110 from March 8 until May 17, and $150 for day-of registration.
  • 8K: $60 by January 1, $65 from January 2 to March 8, $75 from March 8 until May 17, and $100 for day-of registration.

Day-of registration and bib pick-up are available only from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM on the race day. There are no refunds or deferments.

A free Mo Mile Kids Run is held the day before for participants aged 12 and under.

Participant Information

Registered runners receive a technical short-sleeve shirt, a finisher medal, a post-race food bag, and a free beer for those 21 and over with ID. There is a post-race party with live music and a raffle.

Bib pick-up is available at the Berkshire Running Center in Pittsfield on the Friday and Saturday before the race. On race day, it is only available from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM at the start area.

The course has a 6-hour time limit, with support ending at 1:30 PM. Water stops are provided along the course. The Ashuwillticook Rail Trail remains open to the public during the event, so runners must be aware of other trail users like cyclists. Headphones are discouraged, and baby strollers and dogs are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
