Event Overview

The Edge Hill Trail Race offers distances of 50k, 30k, and 10k over a mix of single-track trails, dirt roads, and a few stretches of pavement. The event is held at the Edge Hill Conservation Area in Ashfield, Massachusetts, a former golf course purchased by the Franklin Land Trust.

Course Details

The event takes place in the western Massachusetts hill towns. The course is hilly, with the 50k distance featuring approximately 4,000 feet of climbing, including the high point of Ashfield. The 30k distance includes about 3,100 feet of climbing. Trail management is credited to Ashfield Trails.

Aid and Logistics

Aid stations are placed every 3-5 miles, though some on the 50k route are unmanned water-only stations. The event welcomes Athletes with Disabilities. The use of poles is allowed, but the use of headphones is discouraged per USATF regulations. There will be first aid available at the start/finish area.

Registration and Fees

Entry fees are $80 for the 50k, $60 for the 30k, and $45 for the 10k. Day-of registration is available at a higher price. Funds are available to support runners for whom the entry fee is a barrier.

Proceeds and Partnership

The race is run in partnership with the Franklin Land Trust. All proceeds support the Trust's conservation work, including plans to transform the former golf course fairways into grassland and shrubland habitat and restore wetlands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
