Run for RMC

Run for RMC is a community event organized by the Tactical Tone Memorial Foundation on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., Westfield, MA. The event raises awareness of renal medullary carcinoma, a rare and aggressive kidney cancer that often affects adolescents and young adults and is closely associated with sickle cell trait. Proceeds support RMC awareness and related programs in memory of an individual.

The event offers multiple course options to accommodate different preferences and abilities:

  • 5K Trail Run/Walk: scenic route through the trails of Stanley Park.
  • 1 mile Accessible Route: designed for strollers, young children, and shorter distance participants.

The program includes a chip timed competitive 5K, a 5K fun run and walk, and a 1 mile accessible walk that includes a kids fun run. Volunteer roles and local sponsorship opportunities are part of the event structure; volunteers help with setup, course support, and finish area tasks, while sponsors provide financial and in kind support to expand the event's impact. The event emphasizes remembrance, education, and community involvement to increase public understanding of RMC and to support affected families and research efforts.
