Chesterfield Gorge Ultra & Trail Races
This event is a lap-based, choose-your-own-adventure style ultratrail held from Chesterfield Gorge Reservation. The course is an out and back following the dirt road beside the river to the Old Worthington Road turn around aid station. The surface is a rolling jeep dirt road with rocks present but not technical trail conditions.
Aid support includes an unmanned water only station roughly halfway between the start and the turn around, and a manned, fully stocked turn around aid station. Manned stations will have volunteers and standard aid station food and drink options.
Runners may adjust their planned distance at any time and may stop and receive credit for any full lap completed. Ultramarathon entrants share a 30 hour window to accumulate mileage. The 25k field is allotted four hours to complete one full lap and may request an earlier start if needed. Awards are restricted to participants who begin at prescribed times, though alternative start time requests can be made for travel grouping or other needs.
The event operates as a nonprofit fundraiser supporting the Hilltown Land Trust. Registration fees are non refundable and non transferable in case of participant inability to attend or event cancellation. Organizers note small giveaways and a special acknowledgement for 100 mile finishers; other amenities are intentionally basic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
