The Surrey Hills Half Marathon is a guided trail run over a distance of 13 miles in the Surrey Hills area.

Course and Scenery

The route starts and finishes in Guildford. It passes through landscapes of the Surrey Hills, including the iconic St Martha's Church and hill, the village of Shere, and viewpoints at Newlands Corner and Hackhurst Downs. The run includes sections of the North Downs Way. The specific route changes for each date, offering a different experience each time.

The run is offered on two dates: a morning run on Saturday, 21 March 2026, and an evening run on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. The meeting point is St Martha's Hill in Guildford, Surrey. A car park is available, and a train station is a short run or taxi ride away.

Participation and Style

This is a guided group run, not a race. Participants run together as a group. Participants should be able to comfortably maintain an average pace of 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per kilometer) for prolonged periods on trails.

A full kit list is provided. For the evening run, Silva head torches are available to trial, and Salomon trail shoes are available to test.
