Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend : overview

The Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend is a three-day running event held over a May Bank Holiday weekend. In 2026 it will be the 15th edition. The weekend comprises separate town races run on consecutive days: East Grinstead, then Haywards Heath, then Burgess Hill. The three races combine to form the full Mid Sussex Marathon for participants who choose to complete all stages. The Mid Sussex Mile is chip timed for runners aged 7 and over. A family-friendly Fun Run is also held for younger participants; fancy dress is allowed.

Routes are described as multi terrain and undulating. Route maps and GPX files are available from the organiser. The weekend includes bespoke medals, medals for the Mile and Fun Run, trophies and prizes, and a T-shirt provided for the Marathon. Organisers list volunteer support, family friendly arrangements, a series of medals, and allowance for fancy dress among the event highlights.
