There are several road crossings, some of which are busy and un-mars halled. The route includes a minor deviation to Clifton Hampden aid station and may include other assessed diversions.

There are a minimum of twelve aid stations on course. Aid station supplies include gels, electrolyte drinks, water, fizzy drinks, snacks, fruit, sandwiches and hot food at selected stations and at the finish. Drop bags are permitted for specific aid stations and the finish. Pacers are allowed from mile 51 (Henley) and only one pacer may run with a competitor at a time.
