Thames Path 100
The Thames Path 100 is a continuous 100 mile (161 km) trail race along the Thames Path from Richmond in South West London to the centre of Oxford. The route follows the river, with the majority on groomed paths, trails and paved pathway. Total climb is listed as 1900 ft (560 m) and terrain is approximately 75% trail and 25% paved.
The event is held under an official UKA permit and limits the field to around 300 starters. Runners must finish within a 30 hour time limit; there are cut offs at aid stations to keep competitors on schedule. Organisers provide marked course guidance using national trail markers plus event ribbons and arrows, but navigation remains the runner's responsibility. A GPX file is available for download.
Entries for the 2027 event open on 31 May 2026. The entry fee is £225 (£227 for unaffiliated runners). To qualify, runners must have completed a minimum 50 mile race within 15 hours between 1 January 2022 and race day.
There will be a minimum of twelve aid stations stocked with drinks, gels and a range of sweet and savoury foods; hot drinks are available from Hurley onwards and hot food is provided at Henley, Goring and the finish. Pacers are permitted from the 51 mile aid station at Henley, must travel on foot and only one pacer may accompany a runner at a time. Mandatory kit includes a charged mobile phone, at least 1 litre water capacity, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, primary and backup lights, warm hat, gloves, long sleeve top and a cup.
