Event overview
The Thames Path 100® is a marked, point-to-point trail race of 100 miles (161 km) held on 2 May 2026. The route runs along the Thames Path from Richmond in south-west London to the centre of Oxford, finishing in the grounds of Oxford University (Queen's College Sports Ground). The overall climb is listed as 1,900 ft (560 m). Runners must be at least 20 years old. The event is held under a UKA permit through the Trail Running Association.
Course and logistics
The course follows the Thames Path with one minor deviation to Clifton Hampden aid station. Terrain is a mix of trail and paved paths (approximately 75% trail, 25% paved). The route is waymarked by national trail markers and additional Centurion ribbons and arrows. There are road crossings, which will not be marshalled.
Runners must finish within a 30 hour time limit, with cut-offs at aid stations. The event provides a minimum of twelve aid stations offering water, sports nutrition, hot drinks and some hot food at specified points. Drop bags are permitted for selected aid stations (size limits apply) and a separate finish-line bag may be deposited (maximum 50 litres; no suitcases). Pacers are allowed from the 51-mile aid station at Henley; only one pacer may accompany a runner at a time and pacers must travel on foot.
Mandatory kit is required and subject to checks; missing items may incur a time penalty. Prizes include Centurion buckles for finishers and awards for top finishers and age-group categories. The event is currently full; new entries are placed on a waiting list. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
