The Thames Path 100 is a 100 mile (161 km) point-to-point trail race from Richmond in London to the centre of Oxford, finishing in the grounds of Oxford University. The course has a total climb of 1900 ft (560 m) and a maximum time limit of 30 hours. The event is held under a UKA permit through the Trail Running Association.
Course and facilities
The route follows the Thames Path downstream and is mostly on groomed paths, trails and paved pathways. Terrain is listed as about 75% trail and 25% paved. The course is waymarked with national trail markers and additional race ribbons and arrows. There are multiple road crossings that are not marshalled. Medical support is provided throughout the event. Aid provision includes hot drinks from Hurley onward, hot food at Henley and Goring, and a minimum of twelve aid stations offering water, sports nutrition, snacks and some hot food at specified points.
Entry, rules and race logistics
Minimum age is 20. The entry fee is shown as around £220, with an unaffiliated/alternative fee of £222 in some listings. Runners must meet a qualifying standard: a completed 50 mile race within 15 hours between 1 January 2020 and race day, or have plans verified by the organisers. Pacers are permitted from mile 51 (Henley) and drop bags may be left for Henley (mile 51), Goring (mile 71) and the finish. Mandatory kit is required and subject to checks; missing items incur a time penalty. Awards include finisher buckles and trophies/prizes by placing and age group.
