Surf Coast Century 2026

The Surf Coast Century is a trail ultramarathon held on Saturday 12 September 2026 in Anglesea on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria. The event offers multiple race formats for individual runners and relay teams, plus a short kids run.

Race distances and formats:

  • 100km solo : the full century with about 1,800 m of climbing.
  • 50km solo : runs the second half of the 100km course (legs 3 and 4).
  • Relay teams : teams of 2, 3 or 4 share the 100km course.
  • Kids' Run 2.5km : a beach and river run for children up to 12 years.

The course follows coastal and hinterland trails with sea cliffs, beaches, wildflower heathland and waterfalls. The terrain is described as more runnable and less technical than many ultras. There are seven fully stocked checkpoints where support crews may meet runners.

Event services include finisher medals for all solo and relay finishers, a recovery marquee and a finish line expo. Solo 100km finishers may earn engraved beer steins when finish time benchmarks are met. Cash prizes are available for breaking course records in specified categories. Free guided training runs over the course, training programs and pre-race preparation resources are provided. Celebration Sunday features presentations and community activities.
