River Run Geelong takes place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Barwon Valley Park in Belmont, Victoria. The event offers timed running and walking options and has a total field limit of 1,500 participants; recent years have reached capacity before race day. Registration opens on November 20, 2025.

The 10 km field is limited to 850 entrants and the 5 km field to 650 entrants. The 5 km option is available to walkers; the 10 km is intended for participants who will jog the majority of the course (finish within 1 hour 30 minutes). Course maps and photos are provided by the organiser.

Logistics and services

All finishers receive a medal. Personalised race bibs are available for participants who register before January 20. There is an option to have bibs posted for a fee of $7.50; bib posting is scheduled in February. Secure baggage storage, five drink stations positioned at approximately 2 km intervals, finish-line first aid and mobile first aid personnel on bicycles are provided. Age categories include Kids (7-12, 5 km only) and standard age bands from 13 years upward. Medals are awarded by age group and trophy prizes are given to overall winners. Age-group and overall placings use net time; overall winners are awarded on gun time.

Fundraising and entry policies

The event supports the charity River’s Gift through donations and merchandise sales. Entry fees cover event costs and do not go directly to the charity. Refunds are available with an administration fee in early registration windows; no refunds are issued from February 2 through race day. In the unlikely event of event cancellation, registered participants receive a full refund less a $10 administration fee. Transfers of entries or bib numbers are not permitted.
