About the race
The Anglesea Roo Run is a community running event held along Anglesea’s Coastal Walk and beaches. Races start and finish at Point Roadknight boat ramp and use a mix of beach, cliff top paths and trails.
Distances and categories:
- 8 km Soulful Living Roo Run for individual runners.
- 4 km Anglesea Discovery Camp Roo Run.
- 2XRoo combined entry with combined time for 4 km and 8 km.
- 1.6 km Anglesea Medical Centre Grommets Gallop for under 12s.
- Janet Jones Classic for athletes of all abilities, run with the Grommets Gallop.
The 8 km course follows the Coastal Walk from Point Roadknight, along cliff tops to a drink station near Anglesea main beach, down to the river mouth and back, then returns via Soapy Rocks to the finish. The 4 km route follows much of the same coastal path with a shorter beach return; routes can vary depending on tidal conditions.
There are two drink stations on course and first aid staff located at water points and at the finish near the Anglesea Motor Yacht Club. Volunteer marshals are positioned on trails to guide runners. Family entrants are automatically entered in a community cup category in the 4 km event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
