Event overview
The 5th Sundon Saunter is an LDWA challenge walk held on 16 November 2025 from Barton-le-Clay Village Hall (MK45 4JY, GR TL 083 307). The route follows mainly field paths, tracks, woods and some roads through undulating countryside with views from the hills. There are three course options:
- 13 miles (walkers only)
- 18 miles (walkers and runners)
- 27 miles (walkers and runners)
The event is listed as full and new entries are placed on a waiting list. Entry fees are: LDWA members £10, non-LDWA £15, under 18s free. Entries opened on 1 September and closed on 19 October, with priority given to LDWA members until 19 October.
Practical information
Participants must use a route description and are required to download and print their own copy; route descriptions will not be available on the day. GPX files and the route description, including checkpoint opening and closing times, are published on the BBN website by 6 November 2025. Recommended equipment includes a compass, mug (there will be no mugs supplied at checkpoints), torch (if finishing after dark), mobile phone, first aid kit, waterproof trousers and jacket, and waterproof covers for route materials. Maps covering the routes are OS LR165 & LR166 or OS EXP192 & EXP193 as appropriate.
The entry fee includes drinks throughout, biscuits at the start, snacks at checkpoints and a light meal at the finish. Dogs are allowed but must be on leads at all times, not taken into halls (except assistance dogs), and must have appropriate liability insurance.
