The event is situated approximately 30 minutes from the city and features a variety of terrain, including winding single-track, woodland slopes, and bushlands. Participants navigate through creek lines and over boulders, with views of the surrounding hillsides. Local wildlife such as koalas, kangaroos, and echidnas may be observed along the course.
The event offers several distances to accommodate different levels of trail runners:
- Long – 21 km (606 m elevation gain)

The 21 km long course is recognized as a UTMB Index race and an ITRA National Challenge event. Walkers are permitted only in the 9 km short course. A strict finish line cut-off is enforced for all participants.
This is a cup-less event, meaning runners must bring their own drinking containers for use at the water stations. Drink stations provide water and lollies. Following the run, participants can access fruit, brownies, and massage services. Medals are awarded to placegetters in each event. Registration must be completed by the Thursday before the race, as no late entries are accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
