Race #3 Sturt Gorge
Race #3 Sturt Gorge is a trail running event at Sturt Gorge Recreation Park in Craigburn Farm, South Australia. The course follows winding single-track through woodland slopes and bushland, includes sections of boulders and creek lines, and features multiple creek crossings. In wet conditions participants may see waterfalls along Magpie Gully.
The site has visible wildlife such as koalas, grazing kangaroos, and echidnas. The area was originally inhabited and cared for by the Kaurna people. Sturt Gorge is about a 30 minute drive from the city.
Facilities and event arrangements include drink stations offering water and lollies; participants must bring their own drinking container. Placegetters receive medals. The event provides post-run food items including fruit, nibbles, and brownies, plus sponsor tents and a quick massage service. There is a members only random draw.

- Long 21 km, 606 m elevation
- Medium 15 km, 413 m elevation
- Short 9 km, 234 m elevation
- Kids cross country about 1 km
All participants must finish before the event cutoff or be recorded as did not finish. Walkers may take part in the short course only. Parking is limited and car pooling is requested; depending on vehicle numbers participants may walk 15 or more minutes to the start. The long course is listed as a UTMB Index race and an ITRA National Challenge event; the courses do not attract ITRA points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
