Bishop's Stortford, United Kingdom • 25 Oct 2026

Stort30

Stort30 is a 30 mile ultra run scheduled for 25 October 2026 with start and finish at Hockerill Sports and Social Club, Beldams Lane, Bishop's Stortford, CM23 5LG. The course follows the River Stort and the Lee navigation as a 15 mile out and back route.

The surface is mostly grassy trail and graded footpath with only the first half mile and final half mile on tarmac. The route is generally flat with a mixture of gravel paths and riverside trail; if wet, about 12 miles can be muddy or slippery. The course is waymarked and a GPX file and written route description are available as backups.

Aid stations are placed at roughly five mile intervals and provide water, squash and basic snacks; some hot and savory items are often supplied and there are usually vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options though cross contamination cannot be guaranteed. Checkpoint locations include Sheering Mill Lane (approx 5.4 miles), Burnt Mill Lane (approx 9.6 miles) and Rye House (turnaround, approx 15 miles); parking at some checkpoints is limited.

There is no parking at the clubhouse so drop off only; competitors are advised to use public car parks at Bishop's Stortford station and walk to the venue. The clubhouse has toilets, changing, showers and baggage storage. Races are electronically timed with live results for finishers but no live tracking. Cut offs are set at 4 hours at halfway and 8 hours overall. There is no mandatory kit list; the event is cupless so runners must carry a drinking vessel. Trophies are awarded to the first three men and the first three women and all finishers receive a medal. Entrants must be 18 or over; standard and early entry fees and on the day entry pricing are published for the 2026 race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
