Stone Steps 50K and 27K Trail Run
The Stone Steps races take place in Mt. Airy Forest near downtown Cincinnati and have been held for over 20 years. The event is scheduled for October 25, 2026, and the series is marked to reach its 25th year in 2027. Mt. Airy Forest covers about 1,469.9 acres and features evergreens, dense hardwoods, open meadows, flowing rivers, hill climbs, and ridge traverses.
Both races use single-track trails that are hilly and include roots, rocks, and occasional tree blowdowns. The 50K is a multi-loop course that alternates a 5+ mile loop with a 3+ mile loop; the total elevation change for the 50K is listed as 10,726 feet. Aid stations are located at the end of each loop on the 50K course. The 27K follows the same loop format with fewer repetitions.
Race entries include a custom race T-shirt and timing chip. The event provides well-marked trails and stocked aid stations.
