Steyning Stinger 2026

The Steyning Stinger is a set of trail running events held on the South Downs near Steyning. The 2026 programme includes multiple distances on multi terrain routes that use public rights of way and managed downland. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. The marathon, 30k and half marathon are registered UTMB Index events.

Entrants must be 18 or over. Cut-off times apply for the longer distances. Entries close at midday on 6 March and there are no entries available on the day. After entry, competitors receive a confirmation email with additional event information. GPX files for the marathon, half marathon and 30k routes are provided in advance.

Entry includes a finishers medal, a post event breakfast and a photo download. The race medal is manufactured in the UK from sustainable materials. Event photography will be taken on the day and made available to competitors for free. Technical running T-shirts are available to purchase alongside entry; 2026 shirts are described as green and gold and are produced by a social enterprise. Trail runs nearby

Trail running on 31 January 2026 at Hound House Road in Surrey with 10 km and 15 km routes over hilly mixed terrain. Parking, toilets and refreshments are available; entries close 29 January 2026.

Take on scenic South Downs trails at Queen Elizabeth Country Park with routes for every level. Choose 21.6 km, 15.2 km or 7.9 km trail runs or join canicross and hikes, organised by UK Running Events.

A guided 10 km trail run around the Devil's Punchbowl in Hindhead, Surrey. Evening sessions include sunset runs or night runs by head torch and focus on group pacing, hilly trails, and scenic views.

A single-loop trail event around Queen Elizabeth Country Park with *50 miles*, *50 km* and *20 miles* options, a 6400 ft ascent, UTMB Index status and regular waymarking and aid stations on the South Downs routes.
