The Maverick North Downs Trail 2026

The Maverick North Downs Trail takes place on 27 June 2026 at Cranleigh Showground in Cranleigh, Surrey. The event offers five trail routes that run through ancient forests, single track trails and rolling fields on sections of the North Downs Way and through Winterfold and Hurtwood Forest. The routes pass Pitch Hill, Leith Hill and Ranmore Common.

Routes and elevation gains:

  • 50k Ultra: 52 km, +1387 m
  • Marathon: 43 km, +1104 m
  • Half Marathon: 22 km, +597 m
  • Middle: 11 km, +317 m
  • Short: 5 km, +97 m

Outposts and services vary by route. The Short and Middle routes have no outpost. The Half Marathon has one outpost at about 12 km with a toilet. The Marathon has three outposts at approximately 12 km (with toilet), 19 km and 33.5 km. The 50k Ultra has four outposts. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks but not pre filled cups; water is available from self serve barrels so runners should use a reusable cup or bottle. The event provides a fully marked course, timing, online results, event photography, bag drop and a metal finisher medal. Free parking is available at the venue.

Cut off points apply to the 50k Ultra and Marathon for safety. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Mandatory kit for the 50k Ultra and Marathon includes a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, 800 calories of food, minimum 1 litre of water, foil blanket, whistle, self adhering elastic bandage, cap or buff, a reusable cup and a GPX of the route.
