The Maverick North Downs Trail 2026 is a one-day trail running event on Saturday 27 June 2026 at Cranleigh Showground in Surrey. The routes run through the Surrey Hills and follow sections of the North Downs Way, passing through Winterfold and Hurtwood Forest and offering views from Pitch Hill, Leith Hill and Ranmore Common. The event is fully marked and fully timed, with online results, event photography, a bag-drop area and a metal finisher medal. Free parking is available at the venue. The organiser asks runners to use a reusable cup or bottle; outposts will be cup free and use self-serve water barrels.
Routes and logistics
Available routes and their elevation gains:
- 50k Ultra: 52 km (+1387 m)
- Marathon: 43 km (+1104 m)
- Half Marathon: 22 km (+597 m)
- Middle: 11 km (+317 m)
- Short: 5 km (+97 m)
Outposts: no outpost on Short or Middle; one on the Half (around 12 km); three on the Marathon; four on the 50k Ultra. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks but not prefilled cups. Cut-off points apply to the 50k Ultra and Marathon for safety; the schedule allows 8 hours 30 minutes to complete the route. Mandatory kit for the 50k Ultra and Marathon includes a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, about 800 calories of food, minimum 1 litre of water, foil blanket, whistle, self-adhering bandage, cap or buff, a reusable cup and a GPX of the route.
