The Maverick North Downs Trail 2026 : overview
The event takes place on Saturday 27 June 2026 at Cranleigh Showground, Cranleigh, Surrey (GU6 7DW). It is a trail running event on routes that use sections of the North Downs Way and pass through Winterfold and Hurtwood Forest, Pitch Hill, Leith Hill and Ranmore Common. The course terrain includes single-track forest trails and rolling fields with undulating, punchy hills. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Logistics, safety and facilities
The 50k Ultra and Marathon have cut-off checkpoints at named outposts with set distances for safety. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks and are self-serve for water; runners should bring a reusable cup or bottle. The Half Marathon has one outpost (about 12 km, with toilet). The Marathon has three outposts; the 50k Ultra has four outposts. Mandatory kit for the 50k Ultra and Marathon includes a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, about 800 calories of food, minimum 1 litre of water, foil blanket, whistle, self-adhering bandage, cap or buff, a reusable cup and a GPX of the route.
