The Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra's

Litlington, United Kingdom • 30 Jan 2026

Event overview

The Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra is a last-person-standing event held near Alfriston. Competitors run repeated loops on the same course; each loop must be completed within one hour and a new loop starts on the hour. The course length is given as at least 4.167 miles, with the organiser also describing it as 4.2 miles (6.78 km). The route mixes single paths and farm access roads with chalky flint and gravel underfoot. The Winter route elevation is listed as 180 m and the Summer route as 190 m. The field is limited (maximum 50 runners) and entry fees shown range from about £100 to £135. Entrants must be aged 21 or over on race day.

Rules, facilities and services

Runners must be inside the starting corral when the bell rings or they receive a DNF. No late starts, no personal aid while on a lap, and competitors may only leave the course for restrooms. Artificial aids such as trekking poles are not allowed. All runners must wear a running watch; laps are recorded via the Webscorer app and manual backup. A token must be picked up at turnaround point 2 and returned each lap or the runner is disqualified.

Race facilities include covered barn space, a small aid station with water, fruit and snacks, a cafe nearby, toilets and separate female changing areas, first aiders, free power for charging, and an electric shuttle option from the local train station. Refund and deferral rules vary by timing relative to race day; pregnancy deferrals are offered. The organiser publishes several sustainability measures, including a single-use-plastic-free policy, bib reuse, recycling and composting, and local sourcing.
