Squatchywaska Mountainfest : Ellenville, NY, April 24, 2027
Squatchywaska Mountainfest is a trail running event that starts and finishes at Berme Road Park in Ellenville, New York. The event offers two mountain courses:
- 25K (closer to 17 miles) on a lollipop course
- 10 Miler on a lollipop course
Both routes are technical and include steep climbs, rock slabs, roots, and sections that require scrambling on the 25K. Each course also uses a mix of crushed-gravel carriage roads and narrow singletrack. Elevation gain is about 2,500 feet for the 25K and about 1,800 feet for the 10 Miler. The event has a 6 hour cutoff for both distances; on-course cutoffs are posted for the 25K and the 10 Miler.
Two on-course aid stations provide water, Skratch, and packaged snacks. Aid stations are not crew-accessible. Registration includes a bib, a swag item, a handcrafted finisher medal, and race photos. The event is capped at 150 participants.
All participants must carry a charged cell phone, water bottle or hydration pack, at least 200 extra calories, a whistle, and a GPX of the course on a device. Trekking poles and grippy trail shoes are recommended. Dogs are not allowed at Berme Road Park. The event is not recommended for children under 16. The Trail Party benefits Run Wild, Inc.
