The course features doublewide trails, rolling singletrack, technical sections with rocks and roots, wood plank boardwalks, some gravelly trail and short sections of road, with an average of about 112 ft elevation gain per mile.
The festival partners with the nonprofit Bigger Than The Trail, which advocates for mental health and funds free therapy. Hardship entry and fund programs are available to help cover fees for those with financial need. All 100 mile and 36 hour entrants must complete eight hours of trail work or race volunteering within the specified window or make an alternative payment to the charity partner.
