Wild Goose Trail Festival
The Wild Goose Trail Festival takes place September 18-20, 2026 at Wawayanda State Park in Hewitt, NJ and is organized by Sassquad Trail Running. The three-day event includes panels and a film screening on Friday and trail events on Saturday and Sunday. Free camping is available to participants, pacers, and crew on Friday and Saturday evenings. The festival supports the non-profit Bigger Than The Trail.

The 100 mile course carries an overall cutoff of 36 hours with a single cutoff at mile 92.5. Aid station coverage is provided throughout the 36 hours for the 100 mile event. The 100 mile course lists 11,275 ft gain and 11,239 ft loss (about 112 ft gain per mile). Organizers note that the course contains a mix of doublewide trails, rolling singletrack, technical sections with rocks and roots, boardwalks, and some road.
Pacing and support rules: runners on 100M, 36H, and 100K who are on course after sunset may have pacers; other distances do not allow pacers. Athletes over 60 and athletes with disabilities may have a pacer or guide at any time. 100M and 36H entrants are required to complete eight hours of trail work or volunteering within the specified window or make a $100 donation to the charity partner. The festival includes a one mile kids race for ages 3 to 12; all children receive a medal and sticker and parents are welcome to join without additional cost.
