Wild Goose Trail Festival
The Wild Goose Trail Festival is a multi-day trail event held in mid-September 2026 at Wawayanda State Park in Hewitt, New Jersey, with the park office/main entrance at 885 Warwick Turnpike and auxiliary access available. The festival includes educational panels and a film screening on the first day followed by multiple race distances across the weekend, and offers free camping for participants, pacers, and crew on two evenings.

Course terrain combines doublewide trails, rolling singletrack, technical sections with rocks and roots, wood plank boardwalks, and short road sections. The 100 mile course totals about 100.25 miles with approximately 11,275 ft of gain and 11,239 ft of loss, averaging roughly 112 ft gain per mile. Aid station support is provided for long events during the full duration of the 36 hour option. Pacers are permitted for the longest events after sunset; athletes over 60 and athletes with disabilities may use a pacer or guide at any time.
The festival partners with the nonprofit Bigger Than The Trail, which uses trail running as a platform to support mental health and provide free therapy through fundraising. Refunds are not offered; organizers provide deferral options and financial-assistance pathways including hardship entries and a Trail Mix Fund application process.
