Stately Trails: Aske Hall

Stately Trails: Aske Hall is a trail running and walking event taking place on 23 July 2026 within the private estate at Aske Hall. The event offers measured courses across parkland attributed to Capability Brown and through the estate grounds.

The course route runs on gentle trails across pasture fields, farm tracks and woodland. The surface may be muddy. Courses are fully marked and car parking is provided. The estate features a Georgian country house, a converted stable block chapel, a Gothic-style folly, a coach house, Victorian stable block, walled and terraced gardens, and a lake with a Roman-style temple.

Entry fees vary by category and distance. Finishers food is available with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options if ordered with the entry. A 6.5 mile undulating trail race around Brierley and Thorpe Woods near Wynyard, organised by Billingham Running Club and run under Trail Running Association and UK Athletics rules.

Take on the Cautley Horseshoe fell race near Sedbergh on 6 May 2026, a short but brutal 7.5 km with 805 m of ascent and spectacular upland views. Entry on the day is £5 and the Cross Keys Inn will be open for post race food and drink.

A 7 miles fell run on Ilkley Moor with about 1100 ft of ascent, starting at the Barrier car park. Runners must touch the gate by Dick Hudsons Pub and return; route choice is open and a suggested map is provided.

A trail race day at Sutton Bank on 10 May 2026 offering Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k courses with downloadable maps, mandatory safety kit and published ascent and time limits; entries are capped and the event operates a no-refund policy.
